The supporters of Ecuador booed when RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's Mustafa Arif Devrim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 9th minute of play. Mustafa Arif Devrim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Reynaldo Quinito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Cutberto in the 16th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mustafa Arif Devrim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Victor Cutberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's Mustafa Arif Devrim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. Mustafa Arif Devrim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mustafa Arif Devrim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A sloppy throw-in by Camilo Gisbert in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's Vladimír Šmicer. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Quinito in the 55th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Reynaldo Quinito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Cutberto in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's Ceferino Chabier was substituted for Felipe Jaume. Luis Andino made in the 66th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cristian Sancho immediately put the ball in play. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Mustafa Arif Devrim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Andreas Pirlo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Mustafa Arif Devrim in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mustafa Arif Devrim. That made the score 1-3 after 72 minutes of play. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mustafa Arif Devrim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of play forced RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's goalkeeper Mustafa Arif Devrim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mustafa Arif Devrim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 78th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amador Donzel in the 80th minute of the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubaldo Ospin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ubaldo Ospin in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 90 minutes into the match, RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's goalkeeper Mustafa Arif Devrim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 92nd match minute, RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amador Donzel to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
