With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baraxil Sarrate prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Valentin Voicu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Valentin Voicu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Voicu, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Baraxil Sarrate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Voicu came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Valentin Voicu made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Berganza to maneuver through the defense. Valentin Voicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Voicu in the 59th minute of the match. Baraxil Sarrate made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 63rd minute. 70 minutes into the match, Valentin Voicu notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. VILLARREAL UNITED's Gert Vesterberg was substituted for Delmar Campello. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by VILLARREAL UNITED's Valentin Voicu. But to his dismay, Valentin Voicu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Valentin Voicu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, VILLARREAL UNITED was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johan Öman to maneuver through the defense. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The VILLARREAL UNITED fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
