With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Marek Matela tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rdth minute of the game Dan Ahlbeck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dan Ahlbeck in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
