Sabadim Harammes PRD's Mauro Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milagros Fraga in the 20th minute of play. Mauro Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Peru were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Sabadim Harammes PRD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Peru's Mauro Cunha threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julian Murillo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Sabadim Harammes PRD booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Prats didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Benjamin Paranaense, made in the 62nd minute of the game. Benjamin Paranaense got a throw-in 95 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Abel Castelo Branco. After 96 minutes, Rafael Gallo made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Sabadim Harammes PRD's Mauro Cunha tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
