Felipe Olivar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Felipe Olivar slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 10th minute. Florencio Cutberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After 15 minutes SPORTIVO BELLA VISTA SBV's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. After a defensive mix-up in SPORTIVO BELLA VISTA SBV's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Cutberto came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Valeryan Bochkin in the 21st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 22nd minute, Eliseo Mina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 47th minute Felipe Olivar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
