With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Eufrasio Patiño tried to sneak it across the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Peru Aranzubia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peru Aranzubia. Rubite FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Fernandino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luis Rubio hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cesaro Solano in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. The supporters of Rubite FC booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peru Aranzubia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eufrasio Patiño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Anton Rojas in the 26th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by El Salvador's Luis Rubio. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Cesaro Solano took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Ricardo Zorita to make any attempt to save it. After 37 minutes, Jesus Carvallo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Rubite FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jesus Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. It was beautiful to see Rubite FC's Paulo Uria in action when he in the 38th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Moises Fernandino kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rubite FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Salvador were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesaro Solano was the one to do the kick off. Rubite FC were furious when Marcos Fuente was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 52 minutes into the game, one of Rubite FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Peru Aranzubia, was totally fooled by El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 57th minute, Moises Fernandino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru Aranzubia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Peru Aranzubia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 70th minute. Rubite FC's Peru Aranzubia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Rubite FC from getting a goal against them. Moises Fernandino hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eufrasio Patiño in the 75th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th play minute Moises Fernandino came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Peru Aranzubia. 1-5. Jesus Carvallo got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 83 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Carvallo. Eufrasio Patiño took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bastia Unzueta during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Bastia Unzueta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Rubite FC's Peru Aranzubia got control of the ball when Abram Luque tried to sneak it across the goal line. 98 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Bastia Unzueta came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. El Salvador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
