The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diego Bradley got a throw-in 5 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Monty Rogers. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gigel Bucur in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. A collision led to Toronto Marlies FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Gino Goldstein hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anfilogino Amicone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jacob May's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anfilogino Amicone was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Anfilogino Amicone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gigel Bucur was the one to do the kick off. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gigel Bucur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Toronto Marlies FC made a substitution. Qin Xing Shu replaced Tomas Ånger. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Bucur in the 95th minute of play. The Toronto Marlies FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
