With a little luck, Red John S.K's Jean Donato got control of the ball when Arthur Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute Pedro Luís Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giuseppe Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Red John S.K was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino Gomes to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Anselmo Batista hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio de Lima came free, but Giuseppe Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dalmo Rocha made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Dalmo Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmo Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean Donato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Giuseppe Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting a goal against them. Wilton Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Red John S.K made a substitution. Jaime Dionísio replaced Dalmo Passos. In the 56th minute, Wilton Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dino Gomes hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Guilherme Mandrak broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 94th minute, Anselmo Batista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th match minute, Red John S.K was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Magalhães to maneuver through the defense.
