With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciriaco Tanio in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Stat Veritas FC's Mauricio Erramun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 20th minute of play. In the 20th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Erramun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauricio Erramun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Peru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
