In the 21st minute Aníbal Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Colombia booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Arano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal Sá in the 37th minute of play. Haroldo Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Mastache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Axel Montenegro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Haroldo Dante quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Abram Sarmiento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. Haroldo Dante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abram Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Colombia's Antonio Indiano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Severiano Arano, made in the 58th minute of the game. Haroldo Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 59th minute of the match. Antonio Indiano made in the 61st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Kevin Mastache immediately put the ball in play. In the 63rd minute Breno Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taquaritinga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Haroldo Dante was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Abram Sarmiento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Abram Sarmiento really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. 74 minutes into the game, Luis Cazalla threw the ball into play from the sideline. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's David Lima quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar de Moraes in the 77th minute of play. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga fully deserved thier win.
