The crowd rose to their feet as Zero Hedge's Åke Jansson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 8th minute Åke Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Zero Hedge getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Nils Eliasson hit a great ball. Wiktor Wallander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 12th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Åke Jansson sent off a good shot on target. Wiktor Wallander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Rickard Viberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zero Hedge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Venezuela made a substitution. Enrique Pozo replaced Jose Correa. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Zero Hedge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Viberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wiktor Wallander was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 23rd minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Guillermo Mariano in the 27th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Zero Hedge's Alexander Johansson. Åke Jansson struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zero Hedge. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Åke Jansson sent off a good shot on target. 34 minutes into the match, Zero Hedge's Åke Jansson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match.

The referee felt a red card was in order, 54 minutes into the game, when Rigoberto Mina put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! Jonathan Ferrant had in the 57thth minute some difficulties stopping Hans Nordström's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 2-1 came in the 57th minute when Hans Nordström all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Åke Jansson in the 60th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Zero Hedge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gottfrid Stenman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiktor Wallander having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Zero Hedge's Leonardo Siggesson got a free kick in the 70th minute. Nils Eliasson made in the 72nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Åke Jansson immediately put the ball in play. After 76 played minutes Zero Hedge got a freekick which was hit by Gottfrid Stenman. Nils Eliasson's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nils Eliasson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, Nils Eliasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Åke Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Åke Jansson took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After 90 played minutes Zero Hedge got a freekick which was hit by Nils Eliasson. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Jansson in the 94th minute of play.
