The audience thought a goal was coming when Lelo Orihuela got free with Jedrzej Galus in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Jedrzej Galus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claude Montens in the 73rd minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Klavertje Vier defense, Angelo Goren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zabulón Carabajal. The FC Klavertje Vier fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zabulón Carabajal should have stopped the shot. FC Klavertje Vier's Willy Van de Goor was substituted for Georges-Philippe Jooris. El Stradivarius made a substitution. Emilio Rami replaced Igor Jarmulowicz. The El Stradivarius supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Stradivarius would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
