Alvar Arvidsson came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvar Arvidsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvar Arvidsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jürgen Trittin in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Bratt in the 28th minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Kattvik kings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Wennerberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvar Arvidsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Kattvik kings booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes, Kattvik kings's Şenel Zeval shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kattvik kings reached it. Kattvik kings's John Bratt came free and shot a quick shot against goal 42 minutes in the game, fortunately Julio Vera had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvar Arvidsson having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Long Zhan Quan during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Kattvik kings's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After 54 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Alvar Arvidsson made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Kattvik kings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Dobrea didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alvar Arvidsson. Kattvik kings's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Kattvik kings's Alvar Arvidsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Kattvik kings from getting a goal against them. In the 68th minute, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Alvar Arvidsson made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Şenel Zeval in the 88th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
