With his leg Pedro Manzanares managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Unione Sportiva's Su Xu Xi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 22nd minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Unione Sportiva's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 23rd match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Tafalla to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Cassiano Vilas Boas sent off a good shot on target. Colombia's Kevin Mastache was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fernado Alves in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 68th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernado Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Unione Sportiva's Fernado Alves got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 70 minutes of play, Colombia's Axel Montenegro made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Unione Sportiva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kimon Yfantis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christiano Ronaldo in the 82nd minute of play. If Tao Kun Xuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Tao Kun Xuan came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Christiano Ronaldo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Unione Sportiva fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2.
