The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Rigoberto Mina a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Conrado Cardozo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Fragleses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's attentive Salvador Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Adam Zawaski made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. Zlatko Ibrahimović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zlatko Ibrahimović in the 16th minute of play. Zlatko Ibrahimović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Zlatko Ibrahimović received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Zlatko Ibrahimović slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 33rd minute. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zlatko Ibrahimović to make the kick off. Kim Hänninen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 58th minute. Fragleses's Kim Hänninen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Fragleses from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute, Wiktor Gomolka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fragleses's Grzegorz Rasiak was substituted for Zlatko Ibrahimović. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Wiktor Gomolka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Wiktor Gomolka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kim Hänninen having to make a save. Grzegorz Rasiak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. A throw-in in the 89th minute of the game was made by Alex Chicote with Alex Chicote as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 92nd minute, Grzegorz Rasiak left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fragleses fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 95 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Kim Hänninen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Fragleses had won after a very even match.
