An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 19th minute of play forced Average Joes's goalkeeper Victoriano Abel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Saba came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 26th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Yavuz Bülent Özger. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Arthur Saba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play forced Average Joes's goalkeeper Victoriano Abel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Per Rolandsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Per Rolandsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Arthur Saba scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arthur Saba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jo Blanchaert kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. With a little luck, Average Joes's Victoriano Abel got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yavuz Bülent Özger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Rolandsson in the 60th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yavuz Bülent Özger in the 67th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Average Joes's Filipp Krupatkih was substituted for Martin Morat. In the 71stth minute of the game Arthur Saba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Victoriano Abel. That made the score 2-1 after 72 minutes of play. Filip Flink hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Filip Flink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Average Joes's Filip Flink got a free kick in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute of play forced Average Joes's goalkeeper Victoriano Abel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Saba in the 90th minute of play. With 93 minutes on the clock, Zé Roberto Sousa commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, Average Joes's Zé Roberto Sousa got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Victoriano Abel. Average Joes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.
