But to his dismay, Peder Alström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Karl-Magnus Bergman came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the INIXET BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Magnus Bergman couldn't finish the play. INIXET BK's Kent Näver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. Kent Näver showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Kent Näver took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carl Kalfhage who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The tension between the INIXET BK and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kent Näver was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 76 minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peder Alström in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 84th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
