The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Abram Luque a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abram Luque to maneuver through the defense. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Joshua Curbelo got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piotr Dziura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Piotr Dziura got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Piotr Dziura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Piotr Dziura in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Fernandino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of KS Działeczka booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Tamayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The KS Działeczka fans cheered their team off the field, for while El Salvador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
