In the 47th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. After having played for 59 minutes, Asım Arif Revnak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boğazova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Asım Arif Revnak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute Kadri Özerol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 minutes, Maxime Maeijnaerts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boğazova and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maxime Maeijnaerts hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
