After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Kadri Özerol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Kadri Özerol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erenay Yaltırak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Asım Arif Revnak. Boğazova's Maxime Maeijnaerts quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 19th minute of the game. After having played for 22 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kadri Özerol in the 25th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Asım Arif Revnak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Delmiro Ostots had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erenay Yaltırak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erenay Yaltırak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 40th minute. The corner led to Mexico's Alberto Tafalla getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Asım Arif Revnak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Asım Arif Revnak took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dante Lacasa to make any attempt to save it.

52 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Hipolito Dalmau came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute Asım Arif Revnak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Erenay Yaltırak. Boğazova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Erenay Yaltırak made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Boğazova's Erenay Yaltırak got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Leoz made in the 70th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Boğazova's Maxime Maeijnaerts. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. After having played for 86 minutes, Hipolito Dalmau managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boğazova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hipolito Dalmau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erenay Yaltırak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Asım Arif Revnak in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
