Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikolaj Jerzyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Julian Obuchowicz got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Jerzyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mikolaj Jerzyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mikolaj Jerzyk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mikolaj Jerzyk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Thomas Vollmar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Thomas Vollmar sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute, Julian Obuchowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute, Felix Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mikolaj Jerzyk was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Tadeusz Pstrongowski hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Newcastle United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 71st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Mikolaj Jerzyk however easily saved by the left post. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. With a little luck, Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Vollmar came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
