The supporters of Costa Rica booed when ЦСКА was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nedelcho Petlichkov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anzhelo Gerushin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to ЦСКА getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Nedelcho Petlichkov hit a great ball. The ЦСКА fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when ЦСКА's Belcho Hlebarov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Belcho Hlebarov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Ivelin Ananiev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Rica's Axel Tasis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anzhelo Gerushin. That made the score 2-1 after 57 minutes of play. In the 60th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Belcho Hlebarov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, ЦСКА's Stoimen Dipchikov got a free kick in the 77th minute. After 83 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belcho Hlebarov in the 86th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anzhelo Gerushin having to interfere. With a little luck, ЦСКА's Anzhelo Gerushin got control of the ball when Lautaro Puig tried to sneak it across the goal line.
