Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Porfiro having to interfere. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. LA MAQUINA F.C's Higinio Porfiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by LA MAQUINA F.C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Cristian Sancho made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that LA MAQUINA F.C's Higinio Porfiro managed to reach the ball for a save. Loco Borja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Porfiro having to interfere. Rigoberto Turi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Loco Borja managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LA MAQUINA F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Loco Borja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Sebastián Puig in the 36th minute of play forced LA MAQUINA F.C's goalkeeper Higinio Porfiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Turi in the 38th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Montenegro in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Higinio Porfiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Higinio Porfiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Rigoberto Turi took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. LA MAQUINA F.C made a substitution. Osvaldo Linhares replaced Sérgio Berti. LA MAQUINA F.C's Joel Min was substituted for Isidoro Playo. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Higinio Porfiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Higinio Porfiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 70th minute. In the 74th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Porfiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute Loco Borja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Loco Borja had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loco Borja was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigoberto Turi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Sokol Gyurkovski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 88th match minute, LA MAQUINA F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Romero to maneuver through the defense. Rigoberto Turi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Higinio Porfiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. LA MAQUINA F.C were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
