Flying Dutch's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Flying Dutch's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Arthur Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Flying Dutch getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jardel Pinheiro hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Flying Dutch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arthur Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Amorim having to interfere. When Eurico Batista came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Flying Dutch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eurico Batista couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Niceto Xacintu came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Flying Dutch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niceto Xacintu couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Zorita was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 51st minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 54th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arthur Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 57 minutes into the match, Flying Dutch's Higinio Raymundo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Xacintu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eurico Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 66 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Arthur Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Higinio Raymundo during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Flying Dutch got a freekick which was hit by Higinio Raymundo. If Fabian Ivașcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Arthur Amorim made a huge save. Arthur Amorim came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 82nd minute, which Arthur Amorim however easily saved by the left post. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niceto Xacintu went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Eurico Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 90 minutes in the game, Daniel Zorita fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Arthur Amorim having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Higinio Raymundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute of the match Flying Dutch got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eurico Batista ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
