Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francesco Totti's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francesco Totti in the 18th minute of play. Francesco Totti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. 22 minutes into the match, Francesco Totti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francesco Totti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Francesco Totti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Colombia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abram Sarmiento to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Celedonio Dominguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 52 minutes into the game, Hammarby IF's Celedonio Dominguez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hammarby IF had won after a very even match.
