In the 7th minute Denmark were awarded a corner. Paw Carbac went to the cornerflag to take it. Nils Elmhuus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Äliqulu Vermäliyev in the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Mehran Utandıbalayev came free, but Nils Elmhuus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mämmäd Abuşov hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The Denmark fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Denmark's Nichlas Glastrup looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Azerbaijan's zone, Nichlas Glastrup stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov came out of the goal and Nichlas Glastrup tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paw Carbac made a great header on Denmark's corner, it was just that Azerbaijan's Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov managed to reach the ball for a save. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nichlas Glastrup went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 24 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Mehran Utandıbalayev came free, but Nils Elmhuus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denmark's Nils Elmhuus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Äliqulu Vermäliyev in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute Denmark were awarded a corner. Paw Carbac went to the cornerflag to take it. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nichlas Glastrup's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Denmark's Nils Elmhuus got control of the ball when Säftär Güläliyev tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lenni Skensved hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Azerbaijan's goalkeeper Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Azerbaijan's Sädräddin Cavadov got a free kick in the 41st minute. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichlas Glastrup, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andre Præstvang hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The Azerbaijan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Denmark were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Faiq Kazimov made the kick off in the second half. When Børge Buhr came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Børge Buhr couldn't finish the play. Nils Elmhuus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faiq Kazimov in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Lenni Skensved hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Sädräddin Cavadov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, Azerbaijan's goal looked a bit too open when Nichlas Glastrup came free, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Azerbaijan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Paw Carbac was slow to take the kick. During this time Denmark's players had a chance to rest. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichlas Glastrup, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Nils Elmhuus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Äliqulu Vermäliyev in the 67th minute of play. Nichlas Glastrup struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. Denmark's Teddy Tholsted was substituted for Nichlas Glastrup. Teddy Tholsted recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teddy Tholsted might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teddy Tholsted ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teddy Tholsted in the 78th minute of play forced Azerbaijan's goalkeeper Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Denmark's Teddy Tholsted. But to his dismay, Teddy Tholsted quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teddy Tholsted in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov saved Azerbaijan from getting behind. Denmark's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paw Carbac in the 91st minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Sigismund Ravnskjold heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Denmark's Nils Elmhuus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Säftär Güläliyev in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Teddy Tholsted ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. The audience was convinced that Teddy Tholsted's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. The Denmark players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
