Andreas Fransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 13th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Luca Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Andreas Fransson quite easily take care of the ball. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Emil Ciuvică tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andreas Fransson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Mexico's Joel Gaona looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Andreas Fransson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Drottningens Parkväktare's Vincent Waller got a free kick in the 37th minute. After 38 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andreas Fransson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. 43 minutes into the game, Paulo Ezequiel Niz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 44 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andreas Fransson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Magnus Harlén in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Andreas Fransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Fransson having to interfere. Andreas Fransson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 60th minute. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Andreas Fransson threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 67th minute, Vladimír Šach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Andreas Fransson managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Ciuvică, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Andreas Fransson made a huge save. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Andreas Fransson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. 79 minutes into the match, Drottningens Parkväktare's goalkeeper Andreas Fransson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. In the 81st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Fransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Drottningens Parkväktare defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andreas Fransson. The Drottningens Parkväktare fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andreas Fransson should have stopped the shot. In the 87th minute Nunez Gabino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernt Browald in the 90th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Andreas Fransson in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
