Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iulian Pietreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Petrică Cândreanu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 27 minutes of play. Baldomiro Txindoki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Arósio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Guillermo Mariano charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the game, Orçun Yalınalp cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 56th minute, Orçun Yalınalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baldomiro Txindoki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 61st minute Iulian Pietreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Iulian Pietreanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baldomiro Txindoki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iulian Pietreanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigel Horhoianu in the 92nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia had played much better football throughout.
