In the 15th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 played minutes Italia.1.FCKaiserslautern got a freekick which was hit by Jörg Ehlers. In the 27th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Rafael Flamme. Italia.1.FCKaiserslautern's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Flamme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of the match. Rafael Flamme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute of the match, Seyfi Çırakoğlu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play forced Italia.1.FCKaiserslautern's goalkeeper Rafael Flamme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Seyfi Çırakoğlu to make the kick off. Italia.1.FCKaiserslautern made a substitution. Eberhard Kaiser replaced Recep Tayyip Orgunalp. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Flamme having to interfere. In the 73rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Flamme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Italia.1.FCKaiserslautern's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Luis Andino to fire away a dangerous shot which Rafael Flamme despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Rafael Flamme to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Italia.1.FCKaiserslautern was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörg Ehlers didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Italia.1.FCKaiserslautern's Rafael Flamme got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
