After 45 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Alan Tamayo. Victor Lundqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Johnathan Bowden made a kick off. Vlad Tudose took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Thiago Pliego. Chile's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johnathan Bowden's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Selebi-Phikwe had won after a very even match.
