The crowd rose to their feet as Selim Zor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 2-1 in the 39 minute of play. ...'s Sarper Kürşat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th match minute, ... was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionuț Ghițescu to maneuver through the defense. Sarper Kürşat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 67th minute, Sergio Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento.
