Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off. Lautaro Puig charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lautaro Puig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Art Savic came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 10th minute. After some careless play in the Zawisza Bydgoszcz defense, Lautaro Puig kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Seosamh McLiam. The Zawisza Bydgoszcz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Seosamh McLiam should have stopped the shot. Denny Dempsey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Seosamh McLiam came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa. But to his dismay, Eliseo Noboa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Eliseo Noboa scored 0-3 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Seosamh McLiam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryan McSteve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Tasis took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Seosamh McLiam. Seosamh McLiam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Costa Rica were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. In the 54th minute Bryan McSteve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes, Axel Tasis made it 1-7 with a short kick to the right side. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Seosamh McLiam tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 71 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis made it 1-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Seosamh McLiam was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Art Savic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Carballo charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexander Carballo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Costa Rica's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
