Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but KV Schoonwater's Daniel Ingelbert did a great save. 5 minutes into the match, KV Schoonwater's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Daniel Ingelbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Abel Van Den Wijngaert sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Van Den Wijngaert in the 9th minute of the match. After some careless play in the KV Schoonwater defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Ingelbert. The KV Schoonwater fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Ingelbert should have stopped the shot. After having played for 16 minutes, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustín Saelices was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the match, KV Schoonwater's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Daniel Ingelbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abel Van Den Wijngaert in the 36th minute.

The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
