The corner ended in Jacob May almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but LA LUZ F.C.'s Miguel Ángel Torres did a great save. Miguel Ángel Torres didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cassius Byrne went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 15th minute of play forced LA LUZ F.C.'s goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of USA booed when LA LUZ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Pirro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th match minute, USA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zach Harrison to maneuver through the defense. LA LUZ F.C.'s Dawid Rojek couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for USA. Edward Mcdonald struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Miguel Ángel Torres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for USA. Miguel Ángel Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Teo Venceslas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Teo Venceslas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Teo Venceslas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

LA LUZ F.C.'s Atilla Açıkalın was substituted for Dieguito Maradona. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Atilla Açıkalın stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind LA LUZ F.C.'s goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Torres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. LA LUZ F.C.'s Sebastian Demesio was substituted for Felipe Haitz. Loukas Botinos hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, LA LUZ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marco Baker came free, but Miguel Ángel Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Sam Campbell recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Miguel Ángel Torres. Sam Campbell showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Khalid Parry got free with Miguel Ángel Torres in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. USA played a much better game than LA LUZ F.C. and deserved their victory. The LA LUZ F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
