Cachiyuyo EAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Dito Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cachiyuyo EAS could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
