After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 20th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Aguilar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Sarangapani took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 41 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. After having played for 44 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. When Roque Aguilar came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the Sporting Westmeerbeek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roque Aguilar couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Roque Aguilar sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Sporting Westmeerbeek made a substitution. Chris-George Van Gorp replaced Bart-Jan De Vaddere. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Sporting Westmeerbeek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart-Jan De Vaddere didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roque Aguilar kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Roque Aguilar notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pieter Degraef received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matias Dimo having to make a save. 68 minutes into the match, Sporting Westmeerbeek's goalkeeper Matias Dimo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Matias Dimo made a huge save. Sporting Westmeerbeek's Matias Dimo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Westmeerbeek from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 74th minute of play forced Sporting Westmeerbeek's goalkeeper Matias Dimo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Roque Aguilar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Westmeerbeek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roque Aguilar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
