Carno FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Victoro Soto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9th minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Victoro Soto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hayrullah İrfanoğlu having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Sven Vollander sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Hayrullah İrfanoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Vollander in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 34th minute by Sven Vollander got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
