Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Stuart Banks made the kick off which started today's match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stuart Banks in the 7th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Memphis Grizzlies's Mattias Sawyer did a great save. In the 11th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Sawyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Primitivo Andino in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Memphis Grizzlies's Brandon Power. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mattias Sawyer. Mattias Sawyer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 23rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Memphis Grizzlies's Brandon Power got a free kick in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play forced Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Mattias Sawyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Memphis Grizzlies defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mattias Sawyer. The Memphis Grizzlies fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mattias Sawyer should have stopped the shot. Mattias Sawyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stuart Banks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Stuart Banks's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 55th minute of play forced Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Mattias Sawyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mattias Sawyer having to make a save. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Stuart Banks kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Memphis Grizzlies's Ian Prutton was substituted for Billy Watkinson. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Memphis Grizzlies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stuart Banks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicky Sansom charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicky Sansom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ty Hislop in the 70th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ty Hislop's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 78th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute Ty Hislop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ty Hislop in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Ty Hislop had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ty Hislop was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Ty Hislop might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ty Hislop ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ty Hislop in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Memphis Grizzlies support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
