Peru were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Thames Ironworks FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. In the 9th minute, Gösta Granström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Bäck in the 20th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dick Melander saved Thames Ironworks FC from getting behind. 28 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Dick Melander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39th minute of the match, Niklas Bäck tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Noboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niklas Bäck in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Dick Melander made a huge save. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Dick Melander made a huge save. Moises Gayoso kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Niklas Bäck came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Peru's Julian Murillo fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dick Melander having to interfere. Torgny Forsman took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Dick Melander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 81st minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dick Melander was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Torgny Forsman took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 92nd minute, Milagros Fraga made a precise shot to the right of Dick Melander. Thames Ironworks FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2.
