The supporters of Colombia booed when BUZZIDA FC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lukasz Piekarczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Szczęsny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, BUZZIDA FC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Pascual Carballar came free, but Franco Szczęsny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franco Szczęsny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 18 played minutes BUZZIDA FC -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Ion Dulgherescu. When Orlando Tafalla fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colombia's protests and gave Orlando Tafalla a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Orlando Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ion Dulgherescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute, Ion Dulgherescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celio Oton in the 79th minute of play. Ignacio Mastache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Franco Szczęsny tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo de Souza took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares.
