The corner led ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Marcus Gantenbein to fire away a dangerous shot which Thiago Pliego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Goren Puget made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Keller. In the 25th minute of the match, Samuel Keller tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Thiago Pliego saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Goren Puget was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Chile booed when ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Mckinley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Goren Puget came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Chile were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Samuel Urbez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Samuel Urbez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Keller in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76thth minute Marcus Gantenbein easily got through Chile's defense and fired away a shot, but Thiago Pliego leaped left and performed a fabulous save. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcus Gantenbein was slow to take the kick. During this time ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's players had a chance to rest. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 79th minute, but Goren Puget got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ hanging dry this time. 80 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Keller came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Erroman in the 83rd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Gantenbein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
