Victor Negara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Alexandru Tudorică tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Manole Frunză lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Manole Frunză's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Turcescu in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The wind increased when Manole Frunză made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manole Frunză in the 52nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Victor Negara in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th minute Rovine Craiova were awarded a corner. Alexandru Tudorică went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Marcel Turcescu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 65th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Negara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rovine Craiova getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Nicolae Negrilă hit a great ball. Victor Negara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Montenegro went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rovine Craiova.
