Amerigo Eggers short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Amerigo Egger had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. Modesto Oakley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Cristian Sancho scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Modesto Oakley, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Modesto Oakley. Modesto Oakley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosimo Michelini in the 31st minute of play. Modesto Oakley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play. Modesto Oakley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of the match. Modesto Oakley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amerigo Egger in the 37th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amerigo Egger took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. A collision led to Lilywhites getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Marcos Elequemedo hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Modesto Oakley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amerigo Egger made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play forced Lilywhites's goalkeeper Modesto Oakley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 55th minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Cosimo Michelini came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Lilywhites fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cosimo Michelini couldn't finish the play. After 69 minutes, Róbert Szepes made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Róbert Szepes's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Oakley having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Modesto Oakley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amerigo Egger, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Amerigo Egger notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 82nd minute, Róbert Szepes made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Cristian Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lilywhites.
