Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bubu Denat started the match with the kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 5th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 6th minute of play. When Federico Zanetti fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's protests and gave Federico Zanetti a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play forced F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goalkeeper Alejandro Verdu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejandro Verdu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of the match. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Bubu Denat. But to his dismay, Bubu Denat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 17th match minute, F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joan Puig to maneuver through the defense. Alejandro Verdu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Gonzalo Boye tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Alejandro Verdu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Antoni Villarroel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Bubu Denat might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bubu Denat ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bubu Denat. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Bubu Denat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bubu Denat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Verdu having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Francesc Pla succeeded in the game's 57th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. 62 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Bubu Denat came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antoni Villarroel in the 63rd minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesc Pla in the 64th minute of play. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bubu Denat's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Felix Montenegro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 69th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 73 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. In the 75th minute F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA were awarded a corner. Gonzalo Boye went to the cornerflag to take it. Federico Zanetti kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Antoni Villarroel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's David Ballester was substituted for Gonzalo Boye. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Bubu Denat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Bubu Denat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antoni Villarroel in the 93rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonio Arias during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! The referee gave F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Antoni Villarroel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. 3-0. The F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
