With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 6th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Синій's Matviy Pavleschuk fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matviy Pavleschuk, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, Lautaro Puig made a precise shot to the right of Sergiy Lepyavko. Синій's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Sergiy Lepyavko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matviy Pavleschuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Lev Nazarchuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Matviy Pavleschuk came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Синій booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 88 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. In the 93rd match minute, Синій was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olexiy Stoyanov to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
