Rutenio Poveda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Mihăilescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Rutenio Poveda came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Felix Mihăilescu. But to his dismay, Felix Mihăilescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Talcampeón FC's Rutenio Poveda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Mihăilescu in the 8th minute of play. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Virgil Jupân hit a great ball. Viviano Despouy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Dacian Ghițescu made a huge save. In the 20th minute, Golo Phoenix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Mihăilescu in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rutenio Poveda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Nistor Vermeşan fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's protests and gave Nistor Vermeşan a yellow card for diving instead. 30 minutes into the game, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Golo Phoenix nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rutenio Poveda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Talcampeón FC were furious when Ángel Soruco was red carded, 35 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Talcampeón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ángel Soruco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Talcampeón FC's zone, Sorin Nicorici stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rutenio Poveda came out of the goal and Sorin Nicorici tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Jose Miguel Echeandía hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sorin Nicorici, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 41stth minute of the game Golo Phoenix who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Talcampeón FC's Rutenio Poveda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rutenio Poveda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgil Jupân went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Rutenio Poveda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Mihăilescu in the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacinto Cross made a kick off. Golo Phoenix succeeded in the game's 53rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Golo Phoenix in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rutenio Poveda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Mihăilescu to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Rutenio Poveda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Golo Phoenix. A collision led to Talcampeón FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Bonifacio Lavanderos hit a great ball. Rutenio Poveda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Golo Phoenix's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Felix Mihăilescu took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Rutenio Poveda to make any attempt to save it. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
