In the 11th match minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Queirós to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Capivara FC's Celso Maranhense got a free kick in the 14th minute. James Orange succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 16th playminute. Cacá Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glauco Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 21 played minutes Capivara FC got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Aparecido. After some careless play in the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ defense, Edvaldo Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cacá Sousa. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cacá Sousa should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Capivara FC's zone, Adhemar Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Domingues came out of the goal and Adhemar Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luciano Pereira scored 1-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cacá Sousa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st match minute, Capivara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Furtado to maneuver through the defense. Lúcio Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Moreira in the 47th minute of play forced Capivara FC's goalkeeper Lúcio Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Deivid Moreira made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Adhemar Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adhemar Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Pereira in the 60th minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cacá Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Perivaldo Figueiredo hit a great ball. Lúcio Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Francisco Queirós almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Capivara FC's Lúcio Domingues did a great save. 70 minutes into the match, Capivara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adhemar Pinho came free, but Lúcio Domingues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luciano Pereira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Cacá Sousa made a huge save. Benedito Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deivid Moreira in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. The supporters of Capivara FC booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sorin Orange didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edvaldo Leal got free with Cacá Sousa in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Perivaldo Figueiredo hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
