The Rathmore Lime Tree fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Rathmore Lime Tree's Flavian Garcon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Olavo Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavian Garcon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Honoré Villot got a free kick in the 19th minute. José Carlos Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Rathmore Lime Tree's Éloi Le Calvez was substituted for Hervé Annette. Waldir Faria's late challenge caught a Rathmore Lime Tree's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Benoît Lamarre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Olavo Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Válter Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 97 minutes, Flavian Garcon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rathmore Lime Tree's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavian Garcon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Vascogoianiense FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rathmore Lime Tree were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
