João Francisco Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Olavo Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, João Francisco Mota was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mestre GG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vascogoianiense FC the free kick. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Dé Paiva sped through Vascogoianiense FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olavo Fonseca. In the 27th minute, Christian Donato had to leave the field with a concussion. Mestre GG made a substitution. Severino Quintal replaced Christian Donato. Hélder Trigo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Olavo Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dé Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Raúl de Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hélder Trigo in the 36th minute. In the 43rd match minute, Vascogoianiense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Montenegro to maneuver through the defense.

Olavo Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilian Fonseca in the 54th minute. Dé Paiva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olavo Fonseca having to make a save. After 60 minutes of play, Mestre GG's Gerson Ramos made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olavo Fonseca was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 65 minutes, Márcio Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vascogoianiense FC and the Mestre GG players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Vascogoianiense FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mestre GG:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Anderson Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson Valladares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raúl de Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raúl de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Vascogoianiense FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Diogo Zonta hit a great ball. Wilian Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Wilian Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olavo Fonseca was a little too slow when Gerson Ramos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-4. Mestre GG's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
