In the 10th minute Cesare Loreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute of the match, Cesare Loreto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesare Loreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armando Bonelli. Sorci Viola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Alvise Urbani sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesare Loreto was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Sorci Viola getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Dario Tondi hit a great ball. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armando Bonelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Bonelli having to make a save. Armando Bonelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 69th minute. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sorci Viola made a substitution. Franco Piccirilli replaced Cosimo Toninelli. 75 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Armando Bonelli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Armando Bonelli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Armando Bonelli made a huge save. Armando Bonelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvise Urbani in the 83rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cesare Loreto took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. A collision led to Sorci Viola getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Dario Tondi hit a great ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Edoardo Meo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Edoardo Meo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Bonelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sorci Viola had played much better football throughout.
